Visitors are
welcome !
Visitors are warmly welcomed to attend our Sunday worship
services. There are two Sunday morning services offered; an
8:00 AM quiet morning prayer service with Eucharist and a 10:15
AM Eucharist Service with choir. Church School and child
care are offered at the later service, followed by a coffee
hour fellowship. You are invited to complete the welcome
pamphlet in the pew rack and place it in the offering plate
and sign our Guest Book.
Receiving Communion
All are welcome to receive Holy Communion. St. David’s
practices the theology of the “open table” since that is
what our Lord witnessed to in welcoming everyone all the
time.
This includes children at the discretion of their parents or
guardians. There are no outcasts.
For most of the liturgical year, our
practice is to come forward to a single station and remain
standing to receive the gifts of bread and wine. We cross
our open palms and hold them up to receive the wafer and
then sip from or dip the wafer into a common chalice offered
by the chalice bearer. If you wish to receive a gluten-free
wafer, simply put your hands together and hold them up. A
ceramic chalice with white grape juice is offered to those
who prefer this. After receiving, those who wish may stand
or kneel at the altar rail for private prayer. During the
more contemplative seasons of Advent and Lent, Holy
Communion is received by kneeling or standing at the altar
rail as able. If you wish to receive a blessing instead of
receiving Communion, simply cross your arms over your chest.
If you are unable to come forward for Communion, please
indicate this to one of the greeters and Communion will be
brought to you.
We all experience the risen Christ as a real presence in
various ways by receiving Communion or a blessing.
This is important to each individual and we cherish this
presence which we are to carry out and proclaim to the
world.

Worship Team Ministry
Worship services are conducted by Worship
Teams.
Each worship team consists of a team leader
and parishioners who serve as readers, chalice bearers,
acolytes, crucifers, greeters, presenters, hospitality
ministers, good shepherds, and altar guild. Each worship
team also has a member who serves as a pastoral care leader
whose ministry is to help the team provide pastoral care for
team members. Team pastoral care includes making visits
and/or providing transportation for appointments and food
for homebound or in emergencies.
There are currently four teams (Red, White,
Green and Gold – the colors of the Welsh flag since St.
David is the patron saint of Wales). Each team serves every
four weeks.
Team
leaders are responsible for
scheduling the various ministries required for worship
services, so that no one person is scheduled for multiple
ministries on a given Sunday. Training and refresher
sessions for various ministries are held periodically.
The goals of the worship teams are to enable
fuller participation by all members of the congregation in
the ministries of the parish, to provide a small group
ministry that fosters closer relationships through team work
and to incorporate new members into the life of the parish.
All parishioners are encouraged to be on a
team.
