Dr. Mallimo (Sal) began his ministry as our Music Director on November 5, 2017. He holds Doctor of Musical Arts and Master of Music degrees from the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University New Brunswick, New Jersey, as well as a Bachelor of Music degree from Montclair State University, all in Piano Performance. He has done additional graduate work in Piano Pedagogy at Westminster Choir College, in Princeton, New Jersey. His performance studies include work with Daniel Epstein, Mark Pakman, Ingrid Clarfield, Susan Starr, coaching with David Witten, Sondra Tammam, and Dorothy Taubman, and masterclasses with Jerome Lowenthal, Earl Wild, Reynaldo Reyes, Spanish pianist Humberto Quagliata, and Belgian pianist Diane Andersen.

Dr. Mallimo’s appearances as solo recitalist include performances throughout the New York Metropolitan area, including Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall.  He is also an active chamber musician and accompanist, previously serving as a Staff Accompanist for Montclair State University’s Music Department, as well as the Accompanist for the Wayne Harmony Singers from 2002 – 2013, and for the Apprentice Chorus of the Newark Boys Chorus School from 2012-2014.

Christina is a Kinnelon resident since 2006. A happily married mother of 2 boys, she joins St. David’s after spending the past 19 years at the Federal Reserve Bank in various IT roles.  She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Felician College in NJ.  She is fluent in Polish, and loves cooking, hiking and spending time outdoors with her family and dog, Zippers. Christina is excited to start the next chapter of her life helping and growing St. David‘s Church.

Christina began her work as Parish Administrator at St. David’s on January 22, 2019.

Matthew Traflet began his work caring for the buildings and grounds at St. David’s in November 2023.  While he works full-time elsewhere, he lives on campus and is available to assist with set-up and clean-up for events, and other issues on campus as needed.  To request his assistance, please contact the parish office.

The vestry is like the church’s “Board of Directors”. It’s leadership team includes: the Priest, the Senior Warden, the Junior Warden, the Treasurer, and the Clerk. The vestry is made up of lay members of the church elected by the congregation at the annual parish meeting.  Vestry members normally serve a three year term and must be members in good standing of the parish.

The vestry duties are both practical and spiritual in nature. The vestry managerial duties include taking care of parish finances. They choose individuals to fill various positions of leadership and representation: the choice of a priest, the choice of delegates to the diocesan convention, and the selection of others as the diocesan canons may stipulate. The vestry also serves as an advisory council to the priest who, by church law, is the parish’s chief liturgical and pastoral officer.

This commission is responsible for stewardship education. It oversees the spring commitment program where parishioners are invited to share their time and talents, and the fall commitment program, which concentrates on pledging or making a financial commitment to St. David’s for the year ahead. Stewardship Commission’s other main task is to plan and organize the various fundraising activities held throughout the year.

The Budget and Finance Committee makes recommendations to vestry concerning the planning, securing and managing of the financial resources of the church. It meets regularly throughout the year, keeping oversight of all matters of income and expenditure, culminating in the preparation of the yearly budget.

The Property Committee maintains, updates and manages the church grounds and property. The committee also takes a role in the submission of grant and loan applications and provides monthly updates to the Vestry along with recommendations when appropriate.

Worship services are conducted by Worship Teams and headed by a Worship Team Leader. Team leaders are responsible for scheduling the various ministries required for worship services, so that no one person is scheduled for multiple ministries on a given Sunday. Training and refresher sessions for various ministries are held periodically.
